Easter 2012

I know..a month + has gone by again! Life is just much busier this year! Above is the lizard Emma won a prize for in art. I can't spell the hispanic portion of the lizard, but she got an actual one from Mexico from mom & dad after doing so well on this one! She really is a gifted artist in so many avenues!

Speaking of art, Emma put in many hours in the musical Aladdin. She was a townsperson and was so cute! She got to spend many hours rehearsing & learning how to apply stage makeup! It was a 2 night show, and Eric, Bethany and Bethany's friend, Mallory made it one night, and I went the 2nd night. Harper's not quite old enough to sit thru this kind of project! It was quite good for a middle school performance!

Yep, March 17th and we had our first experience outside on the slide! It was such a mild winter & March's weather was amazing! I think we almost hit 90 once or twice! Of course, April hasn't been that great, but we did just have our first rain this weekend!

The Saturday before Easter, the girls & I ran over to Jackson to spend some time with G & G Olson while Eric was down in NE for the weekend. While we were there, we spent some time decorating Easter eggs.

On Easter Sunday, we went back to Jackson & had an Easter Egg hunt outside. I think both girls enjoyed! My brother & his family didn't make it down as they stayed up in the Cities, and they were missed, but we did enjoy our day. My grandma made it over from Edgerton & my grandpa came down from Montevideo for the day. Additionally, Eric's parents came for the afternoon, so it was a nice day.

Our beautiful girls on Easter

This week has been bittersweet for Eric & I.  Harper decided that she would start peeing in the potty, so as her reward, we upgraded her crib into a big girl bed. I'd really been putting it off, mainly for me. My baby!! She never tried climbing out of the crib, so why bother?! Well, she is sooo proud of this accomplishment! Both naps have gone well, and last night was good too. She did get up from before the nap and Eric had to put her back in, but she did sleep the whole time & waited for us to come get her out, so I'm hoping we're on track!

She is, of course, having troubles pooping in the potty. She's almost 100% on the peeing, which is great, but it's going to be tough with the #2! She pooped in her pants a little earlier and we got the 2nd bath of the day. Last week, we had to take her back to see Dr VanBeek (she has had another ear infection) and she recommended giving her some stool softener for having some issues holding it & it's getting hard. I'm hoping this is a shortl lived issue:)

Things are well in the Salzwedel/Johnson house. We've got Emma's spring dance recital coming up in a few weeks, so things will start being really busy soon! On Wednesday nights, she now has confirmation, so we are running several nights a week! I guess that is part of parenthood!

Well, again, sorry for the lack of posts! Hope you enjoy catching up with us!!
