We're back!!!

We got the lap top back!! Thankfully, it was just a short and only cost $50 to fix! It's amazing how lost I felt for a week without it! I missed my Boggle computer game which is downloaded on here! Sad, I know.

We've had some big days lately. On Thursday, I got a call from daycare that I should come pick up Harper as she had 103.8 degree temp!! After Emma had a huge seizure when she was 3 due to a high temp, I was quite concerned. We got into the doctor (of course not our pediatrician) right away. The nurse gave her Motrin on the spot, so I knew they were concerned too. I had thought it was teething, but the fever was too high for that. Turns out our little girl had an ear infection in both ears. This made sense when I realized the night before, she wouldn't sleep & we slept in the recliner. DUH!! By that night, she was feeling much better, thankfully. We have a few more days of the meds, but we're back to sleeping flat in the crib.

I did notice that Harper is getting two little white buds in her mouth on the bottom, so she is indeed teething!! My poor baby. I did buy some teething tablets (the worlds newest solution for teething pain) to help alivate her pain. They dissolve in her mouth and give her medicine instead of the gel that numbs the area. The girls at work rave about them, so I hope for the best.
My sister Bethany, came out Saturday afternoon so we could go out with some friends. She had a blast spending some time with the girls! She got to be here for Harper's first experience with a strawberry (see below). She thought it was pretty good. It's a net that she can suck the flavor out, without getting the seeds. Today, she did not love it, but we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Tonight she had a bath in yet another new bathtub. The last ring thing got too small. I should say her thighs got too fat for her to fit comfortably in. And now that she's sitting all by herself, she sits in it and enjoys it quite a bit.

Last week, we switched Harper into her "big girl" car seat. My back could not take the infant carrier anymore, so now we're in this one, facing the rear in the backseat (she is 19lbs 8 oz!). Also, after taking an hour to get the stupid thing in the car right, I did not have enough leg room as I'd put her behind me, so we moved her behind the passenger side. Now, when we take my car, Eric has to drive as he's too tall to sit in that squished area. So now I've got me a chauffer!
Emma has spring break coming up this week. She only has school Monday and Tuesday and then she's off until next Tuesday! She'll be going to Southern Hills daycare again for the most part. She will be going to Suzanne's with Harper on Friday for a half day. She's going to help Suzanne with the kids. My office closes at 1 for Good Friday so I will only have the girls at daycare for half day. Paul will be coming for Easter this year!! He's driving a friend out here and going to stay for a short, few days. We are excited, but sad Jen can't come. We're still hoping to see them over Memorial Day so we'll see.

Last Sunday, we took Harper for her first walk in the big girl stroller! She enjoyed it and watched Montana the entire way!

Hope you have a good week!

Computers..part two

It seems like just the other day, we were without our laptop! Guess what?? Here we go again! This time, the screen is black. It won't show a thing. Eric sensed it was happening, but I thought he was crazy! The stupid thing is only 15 months old, so why would that be?!? Well, again, he was right! It's at the doctor yet again! What this means for you, is that I cannot share photos as I store all of my pictures there. I'll have to double up when we get it back.

This week was very busy for me! Monday, I left work at 3 to go pick up Emma so we could deliver Girl Scout cookies at school and then to Eric's office! What a workout! Tuesday was gym day, so Eric picked up both girls so I could get a good workout in. Thursday I had to bring in all of my baby stuff to the WGACA garage sale! It's a benefit for the Children's Miracle Network and I get rid of baby stuff! Friday, I drove to the other side of town to pick up Emma & then go to the garage sale. Emma likes to look. Between both girls, I ended up spending $150 for gently used summer "stuff." Saturday morning I volunteered at the sale and then made it to the gym again. I went back today to get what didn't sell and was pleasantly surpirsed to see very little left and a check for $200! The charity keeps 30% and I get the rest! So I still made a profit after all! My mom & I will be having our own sale this spring to get rid of the duplicates from when Eric and I got married, so some of my things are already marked!

Emma is at her Great Grandpa Harley's funeral this weekend. I don't know how old he was, but I was very sad to hear about his passing. Emma decided on her own that she did want to go to the funeral, which was a big decision for a 9 year old. I hope it goes ok..especially without her mom there.

Harper has had a busy week. We've started sitting up all by ourself. Tomorrow will also be a big day: First ride in her "big girl" carseat. That baby seat was killing my back and I do thing daycare uses it for a crib more than I like, so we've moved up! It only took me an hour to install the dumb thing in the Honda! And it will be an adjustment for me in the car too, since I had to put my seat closer to the dash so it would work. She has to be rear facing for another 10 lbs, so I may start over feeding =)

Have a good week! More photos to follow..hopefully soon

Month 7

Our little girl celebrated her 7 month birthday this week! I know, how is that even possible, but she does it whether I tell her it's ok or not:( I can't believe she's growing up SO fast!

This was Harper doing her part carrying in the groceries! Such a big helper already!

Her week was good. I was trying to get a different schedule started with the time change, but it was a nice thought! Not so much. Harper is definately closer to sitting up all on her own. She can sit on the carpet for a long time without toppling over. We do put Montana outside so she can do it in peace!

She's getting some more peach fuzz on the top of her head and we even need to comb her hair after bathtime. I'm so excited! Probably no haircuts anytime soon, but it's coming along nicely! She is sititng in the tub right now singing away!

I love the fact that Harper is kind of a mommie's girl right now. She kind of holds her arms out to me like "pick me up!!" She has started to make her mouth into an "o" shape and blow! Her daycare lady & I discovered that we both blow on her butt when we change her, so that's where she must get it!

She's been back on her Prevacid for a week and I think things are better. Of course, in her two week break, she decided she hates it and tries to spit it out, which has caused more of a challenge! She didn't know any better before!

Emma is just done with the 3rd quarter of 4th grade! It's so hard to believe she'll be on her last year in elementary school next year! She had her second cello concert this past Thursday night. I went and Eric stayed home with Harper. He will go to the next show during the day this week. Emma also led the Girl Scout meeting this past week. We did First Aid. She did pretty well.

Friday night, Emma & I went to the Ramada as my cousin's little girl was there having her birthday party. They have a big water park, so Emma & Kady went swimming. It reminded both of us how Karrie & I used to do so many things together as kids and now our girls play together.

Yesterday, we went to visit my grandma who will be celebrating her 90th birthday on Easter Sunday! She recently moved into a newer apartment and we wanted to see her and the new place! It's very nice! I'm so happy she has something new to look forward to and she is closer to the laundry room and her garage, so I'm so happy for her.

This week is a busy week with Girl Scout Cookie deliveries. I should just take some time off to get it done!

It's Sunday..again!

I generally do my posts on Sunday's and I'm sad to report, it is again Sunday:(

I bought this hat for a quarter.. It's got the ball on top like when I was a kid! This will come in handy when she starts scooping snow!!

Been a fairly boring week here at the Johnson's. Harper has been very crabby this week and been waking up again at night. Suzanne said one day, she had to carry her all day or the minute she sat her down, she screamed. So, after two weeks without, she is now on day 2 of her Prevacid again. I pray this helps. She cried for over an hour the other night (2-3:15 a.m.) before I got up to feed her. I just couldn't take it anymore. I think she's as strong willed as me as she was so tired again today, so I put her down. After an hour of quiet, then screaming, then quiet, I finally got her up. I think she was fighting the nap so hard. The only person to make her happy on a normal basis is Emma. She will smile the minute she sees her big sister, which is awesome..and very upsetting! I'm the one who gets up with her at night, I'm the one who feeds her etc etc. Shouldn't I be the one to get the smiles?? UGH Someday!

We're finally seeing some melting going on! YA. Unfortunately, there's still enough snow jam between us & our drain in the street, we have lake Johnson at the end of the driveway. After I got back from the gym today, I chisled away at it hoping to make some progress. I did a little. Eric went out to do it on Friday and it was still so slick, he ended up on his backside! Fortunately, no one was outside in the area to hear his choice of words!

Harper wanted to gnaw on dad's leather, badge case?? Yum=(

Our first sign of our baby getting bigger: Giving up the baby swing=( I borrowed it from a friend who let me give it to someone else this weekend. She has a 7 week old grandson who needed it more than my almost 7 month old. She sat straight up in it and the seat reclined, so I was always afraid she'd fall out, even while being strapped in. It does free up some space in the living room, tho! But both Eric & I mentioned how sad it was to let it go. Just one more symbol to say our baby is growing up!

We have a busy week this week. Emma & I have girl scouts tomorrow night. We're in charge of this meeting & we're going to learn the basics of First Aid! Wed night Eric has something he needs to do that's work related, so he'll be gone most of the night. Thursday night is Emma's 2nd cello concert and then Friday I have to pick up Girl Scout cookies & I have Liz's jewelry party! Saturday we plan to go to my grandma's to see her new apartment. So we'll be busy this week~

Have a good one!

Changes!

Our first baby, Emma, got her first set of glasses this week! I can't believe it. She looks SO much older and quite smart..I can't believe how different she looks now versus last summer!

Where does the time go? Watch out everyone, she'll be driving soon, or so it seems!! She says she can see things she's never noticed before and is enjoying her new vision!
